Joe Russo Confirms That Soul Stone Theory At The End of ‘Avengers: Infinity War’

“Everyone’s got a gimmick now,” an annoyed Sam Wilson says upon seeing a 15-year old kid scale the walls of Leipzig Airport. The same thing can be said of fan theories surrounding the end of Avengers: Infinity War. Everyone seems to have one and most of them reach way too hard. But there are a few that make a ton of sense like the one about Gamora’s and Thanos’ scene at the end.

At the end of Thanos’ snap, he is confronted by a young Gamora who questions his decision to eliminate half the universe and the things it cost him to do it. This confrontation takes place in a vast open field surrounding by darkness enveloped by an orange-lit sky. Fans are theorizing that this may actually be the inside of the Soul Stone. Well, Joe Russo confirmed this theory when asked about it in a Q&A in his alma mater:

Yeah it’s- it’s implied it’s the soul stone. It’s all orange around, then he’s inside the soul stone with the amount of power that it took to snap his fingers- he has this out of body experience with Thanos. When he goes inside the Soul stone he has this kind of conversation with the younger version of his Gamora.

So she’s there?
